I’m getting ready to hop in the car to make a trip to Twin Falls Idaho to make a presentation to the local Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) chapter. The title of my talk will be “How to Succeed in Human Resources Management, even when you’re headed for the cliff”.
What is the cliff? I’ll bring in some “woo-woo” information with a discussion about muscle testing and Dr. Stephen Hawkin’s work on the Map of Consciousness. Far out! But don’t worry. My background in management consulting ensures that I’ll have some great data and resource at my fingertips. I wanted to share a few of those resources (specific to employee engagement with you here):
*A white paper from healthcare consulting firm, Press Ganey, sharing their data and recommendations. (Note: you have to enter your email in order to download the report).
*An article in the Denver Post that talks about an intervention program that decreased employee turnover from 42% to 1.6%
My presentation will conclude with some easy and actionable items that HR managers can use to increase employee engagement and general happiness in the workplace.
