It's fun to start a podcast with the host in the HOT SEAT. I did this for the launch of my Mountain Mantras podcast, and folks loved it.
The idea is to give listeners just a little more information about me and my journey to help others be happier, healthier and more successful- now in the word of publishing!
Yes, folks can read my bio on Make Everything Fun if they would like to know more about my business background and my role as a business leader and coach. I am also a Certified Nutritional Counselor that helps people to feel more energetic and productive.
The important thing to know is that I’m on a mission to make this world a happier, healthier place. And I'm on mission to help aspiring authors sift through the confusing, bizarre world that is the publishing industry.
Thanks for listening to the very first episode of the Positive on Publishing podcast. You’ll be getting lots and lots of content along with free downloadable books, sample chapters, charts, checklists and more.
What do I mean by “the hot seat”? In this first episode, you’ll find me on the opposite end of the mic being interviewed on live radio by DJ/Radio host Cyndi Dufur. The episode is a little dated in that I had only written two books when it was recorded (now I'm past number four).
I talk about:
-publishing Mountain Mantras: Wellness and Life Lessons from the Slopes (my very first book)
-my marketing process for my book, including some myth busting about the industry standards
-why we need accountability partners for our creative process
-how my friends inspired me to write my first children's book, Give It a Go, Eat a Rainbow
-how the industry is changing so rapidly
-the importance of finding a home base in the publishing industry (I mentioned that I love the Independent Book Publishers Association)
-my experience at the Book Expo of America (and how I used the squeaky wheel tactic to get a speaking gig there)
