Skiing as an Accelerated Classroom

It was so much fun to be on air with Wayne and Jayne on EZ Rock.  What a great way to start your day with some inspiration for a happier and healthier life.

Wayne and Jayne play cool music and find experts to come on air in between the tunes to provide actionable advice to listeners. 🙂

They asked me to share three lessons from the ski slopes, based on my book Mountain Mantras: Wellness and Life Lessons from the Slopes.

Here are three lessons I shared on the radio, based on the Mountain Mantras from the book:

1. Create a vision. Use the time on the lift to cultivate the big picture (and prioritize those things on our to-do list)

2. Plant your poles and set your goals.  Break down that huge vision into manageable, actionable goals. Take things one at a time.

3.  Embrace the yard sale– Learn from your mistakes!

Bonus lesson:  Commit– Don’t sit back on your skis!  It is the exact opposite of what you’re supposed to do.  Let go (to gravity). Same thing that many of us need to do in life– commit fully and engage 100% in our projects.
